12th Annual Day of the Dead & Natural Death Handbook Awards Presentations
Enclosed is a small supply of leaflets for this event which we hope that you can make available to the general public. Please let us know if you would like more. We already have some colourful and interesting exhibits arranged, and there are just a few stands left. At £30-00 / £50-00, these offer an excellent opportunity to address an audience who will be interested in your services. Please contact Mike Jarvis for details. If you cannot attend, and plan an open day, or similar event of your own to coincide with the London event, do let us know, so that we can help to promote it with a listing here. Disability Discrimination Act 1995 - Part 3
Part 3 of this Act requires that physical alterations to your premises (a hall or similar, should you have one) to allow disabled access must be completed by 1st October 2004. Under the terms of the Act, anyone to whom this applies must have considered whether or not they need to take reasonable steps to facilitate this, and complete any works by that date. On page 2 of this newsletter is a short article relating to this by Stephen Laing of ASSETtrac.
CBA Cemetery of the Year Award
This year's award, sponsored by the Confederation of Burial Authorities, has a 'green' theme. Last year, a special mention was made with regard to a natural burial ground; this year a new category for them has been introduced. The article on page 3 is by Jessica Borton of the organisers.
